The latest roadmap puts Belgardin in October, with a new raid and another equipment pursuit. The interesting part is how that update lands with an established audience: players who already know what they enjoy about Lost Ark, and what keeping up can cost them in time.
Another target, with a different kind of event behind it
Belgardin is an eight-player, two-gate raid, with item-level requirements of 1750 for Normal, 1770 for Hard and 1780 for Nightmare. Its progression includes Bracers acquired and improved through raid rewards; a matching mode is planned later.
November’s plans also include Extreme Kazeros Act 3 and Vestiges of the End. The latter is an eight-week event with multiple bosses, unlimited respawns and no enrage timers, with Normal and Hard entry levels of 1730 and 1770.
That contrast is worth watching. A demanding raid gives established groups a new project, while a less punishing event structure could let players enjoy combat without attaching the same consequence to every mistake. Neither should be mistaken for content available to every character regardless of progression.
Excitement and preparation anxiety sit together
The roadmap discussion on r/lostarkgame includes enthusiasm for getting Belgardin alongside concern about the time available to prepare. It is a familiar tension: a faster release cadence sounds good until the next requirement belongs to your character.
An earlier discussion of Belgardin clears also cautions against treating quick clears by strong groups as evidence that an encounter will be easy for ordinary players. A skilled, prepared team’s result does not measure everybody else’s learning time.
These are individual community reactions, not a representative approval rating. They do, however, point toward a more useful question than whether there is enough content: can the people interested in it participate at a pace they enjoy?
There is still an audience, but it is smaller
Steam Charts recorded roughly 4,909 average concurrent players in September 2026, compared with 5,045 in August—a 2.7% decline. January’s average was about 8,377.
That supports describing an ongoing Steam audience with a downward trend over that period. It does not establish the size of the worldwide community, count individual monthly users or tell us how many people are spending money. A modest change between two months is also not proof that the longer-term decline has stopped.
Our take
The constantly moving goalposts concern us in Lost Ark and in progression-heavy games more broadly. Working toward better equipment can be satisfying; discovering that the target has moved again before you reached it can make the same effort feel wasted. Taking a break should not leave people wondering whether it is worth coming back at all.
But players do not all experience a new progression cycle the same way. Some welcome a fresh shared target, a reason to regroup with friends or an opportunity to catch up when an update includes meaningful support. We should not assume that everyone wants the equipment chase to end. Equally, a higher requirement on its own is not a catch-up system, and Belgardin should not be described as a fresh start for everybody.
The balance we want is continued ambition for committed raiders without making the rest of the audience feel permanently late. Clear routes into the content, manageable preparation and ways to learn are what turn the next gear chase into an invitation rather than another bill for time already spent.
