Editorial policy

Useful coverage begins with clear standards.

This policy explains how North Line Gaming reports on games, handles reviews and commercial relationships, and corrects mistakes. Our goal is straightforward coverage that helps readers understand what happened, why it matters to players, and what remains uncertain.

The editor is responsible for every item published under the North Line Gaming name. We distinguish reporting, analysis, previews, reviews, guides, opinion, and sponsored features so readers can understand what kind of coverage they are reading.

Reporting and evidence

Facts, sources, and uncertainty

We prefer official announcements and first-party material for release dates, prices, platforms, patch details, and direct quotes. We use independent reporting to add context or corroborate consequential claims. We link sources that support the article and attribute quotes, images, and claims about player reaction.

Reviews and first-hand claims

We describe the work we actually did

Previews, reviews, and hands-on impressions are labelled accurately and explain material access or testing limitations. Where a story relies on reporting about other people’s gameplay, we attribute those observations to the sources.

Reviews consider the experience in context, which may include gameplay, performance, technical condition, value, and the state of an early-access or live-service game. A complimentary copy or other access does not determine the verdict.

AI assistance

Editorial responsibility stays with us.

AI tools may be used in the research, organization, or drafting of articles. The opinions and representations we publish are our own, and we take pride in the integrity of our honest journalism about the gaming industry.

Images and corrections

Use images responsibly and correct material errors

We use official press materials or other images only when we have a reasonable basis to publish them, and provide credit where required or appropriate. Should any image be identified under any copyright or outside ownership we will remove or replace that image once made aware of it.

Readers, developers, and publishers can send correction requests or concerns through our contact page. We review requests and update coverage when the evidence supports a change.
